When will the Singularity happen? Next year?
Singularity (technological singularity) refers to the tipping point at which artificial intelligence (AI) repeatedly improves itself and exceeds human intelligence.
In other words, AI (Artificial Intelligence) exceeds human intelligence, and the tipping point is called Singularity.
About 10 or 20 years ago?
When AI first came into the world, it was said that the Singularity would happen in 2045.
Predictions for the distant future are often off, but as information is updated and accumulated, and as the time nears, the accuracy of predictions will improve.
In this interview, Elon Musk says the Singularity will happen within two years.
That is a much earlier prediction based on the 2045 prediction.
Are there any other pundits predicting when the Singularity will occur? I thought so and did a little research.

One thing I have wondered about.
That is the timing of the articles I have mentioned above.
The article that says it will happen by 2031 is from December 1, 2023.
The article that says it will happen by 2029 is from March 26, 2024.
And,
This article by Elon Musk is from September 13, 2024.
I believe that while the content of information is important, the “when” of the information is also important.
(That’s also why I blog about articles that are less than three days old.)
If you look at the articles in chronological order, you can see that the more recent they are, the earlier they are predicting the Singularity.
I see this trend,
Elon Musk’s prediction of “within two years” is also credible, and possibly even earlier.
We do not know what will happen to humanity, society, and the world as a result of the Singularity, but there is no doubt that it is a major turning point.
That major turning point may be just around the corner.
