What color clothing is recommended for heat and UV protection?

【What color clothing is less likely to carry heat? Difference in surface temperature of up to 20°C or more Heat Stroke Prevention】

・Experiments have shown that surface temperatures can vary by 20°C or more depending on the color of the clothing worn.

・Radiant energy that is not reflected is absorbed and converted into heat. Therefore, objects with high reflectance colors such as white and yellow are less likely to heat up.

・The results of the experiment were as follows: “White and yellow are the best colors.”

The results were as follows: “White and yellow were the lowest, with gray and red slightly higher. Purple and blue are the next highest, and green, dark green, and black form the hottest group.

The above is a quote from the article

What colors are recommended to wear for heat and UV protection?

An interesting experiment.

Many of you know, from first-hand experience, that the color of a T-shirt can change the heat.

According to the above experiment,

The colors of T-shirts are listed in order of coolness,

・White, yellow
・Gray, red
・Purple, blue
・Green, dark green, black

The above is the order of coolness. There seemed to be a difference of more than 20°C between the top and bottom groups.

It is quite surprising that red is cooler and green and dark green are hotter.

Also, as I have weak skin, it is important to take measures against ultraviolet rays as well as heat.

The colors of clothing that easily protect against UV rays are basically black and other dark colors; white allows UV rays to pass through more easily.

Therefore,

For UV protection, black is absolutely recommended, but for heat protection, black is too hot and not recommended.

It becomes difficult to choose the color of clothing when considering both heat and ultraviolet rays.

But actually, there is a color that provides some protection from ultraviolet rays, even if it is a light color.

That is yellow. (though not as much as black).

In other words,

Is yellow the best color for clothing, both for heat and UV protection? Better? I guess that’s what I’m saying.

Lastly, I would like to add something,

The color of clothes that mosquitoes and other insects like is black,

So, from both the heat and insect point of view, black clothing is not recommended. ^^; However, black is best for UV protection, so it is difficult to deal with black clothing.

That is all,

While taking various measures with the color of clothes,

Summer is in full swing! Let’s not lose to the heat!

See you then

Over the years, I have started wearing a parasol on midsummer days. There are still very few parasol men, but they are very comfortable because they can walk in the shade all the time. If you are in the shade all the time, you don’t need to protect yourself from heat and UV rays due to the color of your clothes. I really recommend  parasols.
